For That Life Is No Longer Life

So often we battle against sadness, disappointment, and we crave after happiness, and attention. The truth is as our lungs make use of the air we breathe; our hearts make use of the experiences we encounter. We can’t drink a glass of water and only want to take in oxygen, but no hydrogen. For that water is no longer water. Life is no different. We can’t only pick happiness, but no sorrow. For that life is no longer life.
Our practice isn’t about choosing one of the others. Our practice is to embrace all, and embrace them mindfully, and respectfully. So we don’t turn every experience against us, but allow them to strengthening the core values of our beings, allow them to fulfill our lives’ purposes.
